Roman Reigns Reportedly was Upset Backstage Over Unplanned Spot at Men’s WarGames Match

This past Saturday’s WWE Survivor Series WarGames event in Boston, Massachusetts featured a Men’s WarGames match between The Bloodline and the Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre, & Kevin Owens, which was won by the Bloodline.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Roman Reigns was visibly upset backstage after the match. It was reported that Reigns specially was upset over what he believed was an unplanned spot during the match involving him and Kevin Owens that resulted in him suffering a potential ruptured eardrum injury. Reigns reportedly gave an “expletive filled” response backstage that made it clear to everyone that he was not happy over what had happened to him.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that they currently believe that Owens will unlikely be facing any backstage heat over the incident and felt that Reigns’ reaction was more as a “heat of the moment” response. One person spoken to stated that if there was any real issues between the two, it would be something that Reigns and Owens would discuss directly with each other to resolve it.

It was also reported that this was the reason why Reigns did not make his scheduled appearance during the post-show press conference.

In regards to the specific spot, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in Monday’s Daily Update that his sources stated that it was from a slap Owens gave to Reigns during the match that left visible bruising under his left eye. Those same sources reportedly also stated that Reigns had cooled down after around 20 minutes and there is no lingering heat between him and Owens.
