As noted before, WWE had considered plans for a potential match between Brock Lesnar and Stone Cold Steve Austin at this April’s WrestleMania 39 event in Inglewood, California.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that WWE officials currently do not expect Austin to compete at this year’s WrestleMania 39 event. The reason reportedly is due to Austin had turned down all of WWE’s offers to wrestle at the event.
Meltzer speculated that Austin could still end up making an appearance at the event but in a non-wrestling type role.
In regards to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Meltzer reported that Johnson is also currently not expected to wrestle at the event as well. WWE officials reportedly have left the door open to Johnson if he wants to compete at next year’s WrestleMania 40 event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
