WWE Reportedly Currently Planning for Two PPV Events for This May

WWE reportedly is currently planning to hold two events during the month of May, according to Wrestlenomics.

Brandon Thurston reported that his sources stated that WWE officials are currently planning to hold this year’s Backlash event on May 6th. Those same sources reportedly also stated that unlike recent years events, this upcoming event will not be called WrestleMania Backlash and instead will revert back to its original name.

In regards to the second event, Thurston reported that WWE officials currently have plans to hold a King and Queen of the Ring event on May 27th.

No other details regarding locations nor venues for these two upcoming events were given.


WWE Announces Snickers and WWE 2K23 as Co-Sponsors for WrestleMania 39

WWE recently announced that they have recently signed a deal with Mars, Inc. and Take-Two for Snickers and WWE 2K23 to be the official co-presenting sponsors for their upcoming WrestleMania 39 event this April in Inglewood, California.

This will be the second year in a row that Snickers and WWE 2K series will be the official co-sponsors for a WrestleMania event.

STAMFORD, Conn., February 22, 2023 – Mars, Take-Two Interactive and WWE today announced that SNICKERS® and WWE® 2K23 will returnas joint Presenting Partners of WrestleMania, which takes place Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, 2022 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Following a successful co-promotion at last year’s WrestleMania, which marked the first time two brands served as Presenting Partners for WWE’s pop culture extravaganza, the partnership continues at WrestleMania 39.

Ahead of the biggest matches of the year at WrestleMania, SNICKERS and WWE 2K23 will continue their multi-platform campaign from last year on the Road to WrestleMania.

Warner Bros. Discovery Europe recently announced that they will be rebranding BT Sport network in the United Kingdom and Ireland to TNT Sports starting this July. BT Sport is the current home network of WWE in the U.K.

Roman Reigns is currently scheduled to make an appearance at an upcoming house show event on March 4th in Toronto, Canada based on WWE’s current advertising for the event on their official website.

As noted before, WWE recently held talks this past January regarding the idea of potentially bringing back the Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar, to the company in the future. Fightful Select reported that their sources recently provided an update. Those sources reportedly stated that while there have been some negotiations between WWE and AOP’s former manager Paul Ellering, “things have been quiet on that front” in regards to a potential return for AOP and Ellering.

WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin announced on Twitter that she recently reached the milestone of six years of sobriety from alcoholism.

Energy drink manufacturer C4 Energy recently announced that they have signed a sponsorship deal with Montez Ford for their new Ultimate Freedom Ice flavor energy drink. It was also announced that this new drink will be part of a project to help raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) charity, who help provide financial support to United States military veterans.
