Dragon Lee NXT Status Update
As noted before, Dragon Lee signed an official contract with WWE this past December and was originally scheduled to report to their Performance Center this past January but this has been delayed due to work visa-related issues.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials are currently expecting for Lee to be able to report to their Performance Center next week.
Meltzer reported that Lee’s first feud in NXT is currently assumed to be against Grayson Waller due to those two have recently been teasing something in that direction on Twitter.
Jay White NJPW Contract & Rumored WWE Signing Status Update
As noted before, Jay White’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling is set to expire soon and he is currently expected to be leaving the company for WWE or AEW. White recently lost a “Loser Leaves Japan” match against Hikuleo and a “Loser Leaves NJPW” match against Eddie Kingston as NJPW’s way of writing him out of the company.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that White’s contract with NJPW officially expired on February 28th.
In regards to the rumors of White leaving NJPW for WWE, Meltzer reported that those spoken to within WWE stated that they have not heard his name mentioned recently in the company. Meltzer reported that many of these people normally are the ones who are kept informed about new talent signings.
Naomi WWE Status Update
As noted before, Naomi has been absent from WWE since this past May due to her current suspension over a walk out incident with former WWE talent Sasha Banks during a WWE RAW show in Norfolk, Virginia. Naomi’s contract with the company was set to expire this past summer but is currently believed to have been frozen.
A recent fan signing event for Golden Ring Collectables featured Ariane Andrew, former Cameron in WWE and Naomi’s former tag team partner, as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Andrew revealing that Naomi is currently recovering from a recent shoulder surgery.
“She is recovering from shoulder surgery. I want her to answer the question for herself. I know she’s recovering from shoulder surgery. I’m super proud of her, that’s my sister from another mister. You’ll have to ask her for youself how she’s feeling, see if her shoulder is feeling good because she’s recovering right now.”
