More on Leva Bates Departure from AEW

As noted before, Leva Bates departed from AEW earlier this month following the expiration of her contract with the company.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Bates’ contract situation was a unique one and she was stated to have been surprised when she first learned that her contract would not be renewed. Those close to Bates stated that AEW officials did not have any conversations with her about a potential new deal with the company.

Several within AEW reportedly only found out following an internal email that had been sent stating that the company would not be renewing her deal. Bates reported found out about her contract situation after people had contacted her to check on her.

It was reported that several people within AEW had pushed for the company to retain her after they found out about her expiring contract situation. Prior to her departure, Bates reportedly was heavily influential in running the AEW Heels women’s fan group and putting those events together. Many within AEW applauded Bates’ statement on social media about her departure due to the circumstances over her finding out about her leaving the company was less than ideal.
