WWE RAW Notes: New MitB Case for Damian Priest, Women’s Title Match for Next Week’s RAW, Gunther to Break IC Title Record

New Judgement Day Themed MitB Briefcase Officially Revealed

Monday’s WWE RAW show in Charlotte, North Carolina featured WWE officially revealing a brand new Judgement Day themed Money in the Bank briefcase for Damian Priest.

During an in-ring promo segment on the show, Judgement Day boasted about being covered in gold and being the most dominate group in WWE. Following each member of the group having their turn to boast about themselves and their own championship belt, JD McDonagh came out interrupting the group.

Priest responded being upset over McDonagh interrupting him and stated that just because he helped him and Finn Balor win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship that did not mean McDonagh was in his good graces nor a member of their group. McDonagh responded stated that changes were still needed for Judgement Day and told Priest that he didn’t need the MitB briefcase anymore. This led Priest to be somewhat upset but McDonagh revealed he only said it because he had a brand new Judgement Day themed purple briefcase for Priest as a gift, which said “Senor Money in the Bank.”

WWE Women’s World Title Match Announced for Next Week’s RAW

Monday’s WWE RAW show in Charlotte also featured a new match officially announced for the card of next week’s RAW show in Norfolk, Virginia.

This new match announced is a WWE Women’s World Championship match of Raquel Rodriguez vs. Rhea Ripley (c).

This match was originally setup in a backstage segment involving Rodriguez and WWE official Adam Pearce. While what they had talked about was not revealed and only implied to involve Ripley, Pearce stated that he would make it official. Rodriguez then left which led to Chelsea Green walking in and after some banter with Pearce involving Green insulting Rodriguez for being a loser behind her back, Rodriguez revealed that she did not really leave and Pearce made a match between the two for later in the show.

Following her victory over Green on the show, Rodriguez gave a post-match promo stating that she was not done with Ripley. Rodriguez also stated that she made sure that Dominik Mysterio would not mess with her again and revealed that he will be banned from ringside for her rematch against Ripley for the WWE Women’s World title that she got made official for next week’s RAW show.

Gunther Retains Intercontinental Title & Will Break Honky Tonk Man’s All-Time Days Record

Monday’s WWE RAW show in Charlotte also featured Gunther successfully retaining his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable.

The finish to this match involved Gable attempting a moonsault from the top rope only for Gunther to stick up his leg to counter it only for Gable to land on his feet and counter it with an Ankle Lock hold. Gunther managed to escape from the hold and locked in a sleeper to Gable who managed to break it by shifting his weight to put Gunther into a pinning situation. This led to Gunther hitting a sleeper suplex, powerbomb, and clothesline all in a row for the pinfall victory to retain his Intercontinental title.

This was Gunther’s final scheduled title defense on his road to breaking the all-time record for longest ever Intercontinental Championship reign in WWE history. As a result of his victory, Gunther will officially surpass the Honky Tonk Man for the new all-time record this Friday.
