Malakai Black & House of Black Makes Surprise Return at Saturday’s Collision Show

Saturday’s Collision show in Memphis featured Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews making their surprise returns to AEW.

Following Bryan Danielson’s victory over Andrade El Idolo that opened the show, the lights turned off. After a brief pause, the lights turned back on revealing Black in the ring next to Danielson. Black proceeded to hit a Black Mass to Danielson laying him out leading to Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli running out to save Danielson. This led to the lights turning off for a second time and when it came back on, Black was gone leaving Yuta and Castagnoli attending to a fallen Danielson.

Later in the show, House of Black made a surprise appearance interrupting FTR’s tag team match. During the match, the lights went out the first time and when it came back on, Black was standing in the ring staring at FTR. The lights then quickly went out a second time and when it came back on again, Black, Matthews, and Brody King appeared in the ring and proceeded to attack FTR laying them out.

This was Black and Matthews’ first appearance in AEW since this past August’s All In event due to Black dealing with knee and calf-related injuries and Matthews’ being granted some time off for a break.

MJF Devil Makes Surprise Appearance on Saturday’s Collision Show

Saturday’s Collision show in Memphis also featured the mystery masked MJF Devil making a surprise appearance.

Following The Gunns’ tag team victory over The Outrunners, Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White entered the ring to celebrate with the Gunns. This celebration was cut short over the lights going off and when it came back on, a video played on the giant screen revealing the return of the masked MJF Devil. After the video ended, Bullet Club Gold were seen spooked over what had just happened but regained their composure and left the ring.

Jon Moxley Makes Surprise Return at Saturday’s Collision Show

Saturday’s Collision show in Memphis also featured Jon Moxley making his surprise return from injury to AEW.

During the main event match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship between Blackpool Combat Club’s Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagonli and Ricky Starks & Big Bill, House of Black made a third surprise appearance on the show. House of Black proceeded to attack Yuta and Castagnoli while the ref was distracted by Malakai Black leading to Starks hitting a spear and Rochambeau to Yuta for the pinfall victory to retain the AEW World Tag Team titles.

Following the match, House of Black continued their attack on Yuta and Castagnoli leading to Bryan Danielson running out and quickly getting beaten up as well. This led to FTR running out and a mass brawl broke out with Starks and Big Bill joining in on House of Black’s side. Moxley’s music then played and he made his surprise return and joined in on the brawl leading to House of Black and Big Bill being run out of the ring and Starks being left alone for a series of attacks by Blackpool Combat Club and FTR.

Prior to his return, Moxley had been out of action for AEW since this past September’s Grand Slam 2023 show due to a concussion injury.
