New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that as a result of Konosuke Takeshita successfully defending his AEW International Championship at this past Saturday’s AEW Worlds Ends 2024 event, he will officially be defending his title against Shingo Takagi in a title vs. title match at Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4, 2025.
NJPW also confirmed that the winner of this match will defend both the AEW International and NEVER Openweight Championships against Tomohiro Ishii at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty the following night on January 5th.

After a successful defence Saturday at the World’s End event against Powerhouse Will Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita will defend the AEW International Championship against Shingo Takagi’s NEVER title in a title for title match at Wrestle Kingdom.
Not only that, but the next night at Wrestle Dynasty, Tomohiro Ishii will challenge for both championships. Who will emerge with all the gold?
