Blair Davenport Comments on Her WWE Release & Wresting Career Future in United States

As noted before, Blair Davenport was released by WWE this past February as part of a larger batch of talent releases.

Davenport held a recent stream session on her Twitch channel. One of the topics discussed included Davenport’s thoughts about her release from WWE and the future of her wrestling career.

“I think it was just budget cuts to make up their contracts. I don’t have any negative feelings or anything like that. It’s just the job and the business. That’s the way it goes, really. I’m excited for what’s coming in the future, I’m excited to kind of get back to my roots a little bit, and do my own thing again. I did love doing stuff in Japan and the UK. I’m excited to do the Indies in America because I’ve never actually done the indies here at all. Yes, I’m excited for the future. Don’t be upset for me, it’s fine. It’s the job, it’s the way it goes. I’m happy for all my friends who are still there; Lyra [Valkyrie], she is one of my best friends and just had a massive WrestleMania moment. Same with Tiffany [Stratton], really happy she’s getting a spotlight. I’m excited for people like Roxanne [Perez], Cora [Jade], those up-and-coming girls who are obviously going to get called up any day now. Giulia, my drinking buddy. Piper [Niven], my road trip buddy. Excited for the future. You guys will definitely see me wrestling somewhere or another. Don’t worry, I’m not going to disappear forever.”

Several New Matches & Segments Announced for April 24th TNA Impact! Show

TNA Wrestling announced three new matches and two new segments for the card for this Thursday’s TNA Impact! show on AXS TV and Sportsnet 360.

In regards to the new matches, the first new match announced was a singles match of Rosemary vs. Jacy Jayne.

The second new match announced was a tag team match of The System (JDC & Moose) vs. Trey Miguel & Ace Austin.

The third new match announced was a singles match of Tessa Blanchard vs. mystery opponent.

In regards to the new segments, the first new segment announced was a promo segment featuring Mike Santana.

Dave Bautista, also known as Batista in WWE, announced on Instagram that he was recently named an Honorary Deputy Sheriff of Hillsborough County, Florida.

The National Wrestling Alliance recently announced that wrestling referee legend Earl Hebner will be making an appearance for the company at their Crockett Cup 2025 event on May 17th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The NWA also recently announced that the Slimeballz (Sage Chantz & Tommy Rant) and Southern Six (Kerry Morton & Alex Taylor) are the new official competitors for this year’s Crockett Cup tournament at their Crockett Cup 2025 event on May 17th in Philadelphia.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling recently announced that Zack Sabre Jr. will be making his official debut appearance for the company at their Northern Rising event on May 10th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

As noted before, Su Yung has been absent from TNA Wrestling since December of 2021 due to her being on maternity leave. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that Yung’s contract with TNA had expired and she is currently a free agent. Sapp reported that those spoken to within TNA stated that TNA officials did not have any real plans on using her or her coming back to the company from her maternity leave.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp also reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that the reason why Tommy Rick and Doug Gilbert were pulled from the Senior Scramble match at this past Friday’s Game Changer Wrestling’s Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9 event in Las Vegas was due to them requesting double their usual appearance fee. GCW officials reportedly rejected their pay request and pulled both from the match.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp also reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that the reason why The Warlord was also pulled from the Senior Scramble match at GCW’s Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9 event in Las Vegas was due to him attending WWE’s Hall of Fame 2025 ceremony event. Those spoken to reportedly stated that The Warlord attended the ceremony event with The Barbarian. Sapp reported that The Warlord and The Barbarian were also scheduled to have talks with WWE officials during this past weekend in Las Vegas.
