As noted before, last week’s AEW Beach Break 2025 show in Hoffman Estates, Illinois featured NJPW talent Gabe Kidd making a surprise appearance and helped Jon Moxley defeating Samoa Joe to retain his AEW World Championship.
Fightful held a recent interview with Kidd. One of the topics discussed included Kidd clarifying that he currently does not work for AEW nor is he signed to a contract with the company.
“I don’t work for AEW. I work for Jon Moxley right now. You can say what you want, but I have my purpose, my vision, my path. That’s what I’m doing right now. Fuck all the noise. It’s about what I’m trying to accomplish, what we are trying to accomplish.”
Kidd also gave a non-answer when asked how his business relationship with Moxley came to be.
“None of your business. The important thing is that it did, and it happened, and it’s happening. It’s a very crazy collaboration of people getting together and working towards the same goal. Don’t worry about how it came about, just be happy that it did.”
Kidd also gave his thoughts about if he saw AEW CEO Tony Khan or AEW/NJPW official Rocky Romero backstage at AEW’s Beach Break 2025 show.
“I was in and out. I got in there and did what I needed to do, and what happened happened. That’s it. I didn’t see any of them nerds because they would have gotten knocked out with a slap. That’s that.”
Kidd also gave his thoughts about AEW’s Anarchy in the Arena match and him being involved in this year’s match at Double or Nothing 2025.
“I only think violent thoughts. Let me get this clear, this is my battlefield. This is where I thrive, these kind of violent environments. That’s what I love. I just came off beating Ren Narita in a dogpound cage match. I’m just excited, happy, and content with where I’m going to be on Sunday. The people’s faces that I’m going to look down on and see them squeeming, it gets me excited and does make me happy. I grew up watching Samoa Joe. I’m going to look down on him when I’m punching him in the face repeatedly, and it’s going to be a very special moment for me.”
Kidd also gave his thoughts about if he cares who gets added to Swerve Strickland’s team for the Anarchy in the Arena match.
“All of them. Whoever it is. Whoever the fuck it is. I don’t care. All of them. They are putting AEW on their back. They’re putting that on their chest. Fuck em. I will rip their chests open and eat their hearts out for real. I will bite someone’s ear off. It’s crazy the things going through my head on a day-to-day basis. It’s mad.”
