In regards to AEW’s current plans for the new AEW Unified Championship, it was reported that AEW officials currently view this new title as another top championship in the company instead of being a mid-card or upper-midcard level title for booking mentality. It was reported that the announcement of the Omega vs. Okada match was internally given credit for helping sell over 1,400 tickets in the last week for their upcoming All In Texas event.

In regards to the status of the Continental Classic, it was reported that those spoken to stated that AEW will continue holding their annual tournament despite the Continental Championship being unified into the new title belt.

New Match Being Planned for AEW All In Texas

Wednesday’s AEW Summer Blockbuster show in Portland also featured The Young Bucks attacking Swerve Strickland following his match against Will Ospreay on behalf of their claims of doing it for Hangman Adam Page. This attack was notable for Ospreay getting involved and being hit with superkicks from thumb tack laden sneakers.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that AEW officials currently have plans for The Young Bucks to compete in a tag team match against Strickland and Ospreay at their All In Texas event. It was reported that the build for this match officially began at last night’s Summer Blockbuster show.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that AEW officials had been working on plans for “quite some time” for this match for the event. It was reported that due to the plans for the Hangman Adam Page vs. Ospreay match at this past May’s Double or Nothing 2025 event being kept a secret, Ospreay’s involvement at All In Texas was not cemented until after Double or Nothing 2025.

It was reported that it is currently not known if there will be any stakes added to this new match.
