Sunday’s NJPW G1 Climax 2025 event in Hokkaido, Japan featured Gabe Kidd officially forfeiting his scheduled tournament match against Zack Sabre Jr.
At the start of the show, Kidd came out to the ring sporting crutches. Kidd gave speech stating that he recently had suffered a knee injury and would not be able to compete in his scheduled match against Sabre Jr. tonight.
Kidd also announced that despite his injury, he still plans on competing in this year’s tournament once he is medically cleared.

As a result of his forfeit, Sabre Jr. was automatically awarded the victory and the two points to put his current B Block record at 1-1 and Kidd’s current record at 0-2.
