As noted before, AEW filed a lawsuit against TrillerTV this past April over claims of overdue payments to the amount of almost $5 million owed for AEW pay-per-view events and AEW Plus service revenues on the platform.
Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that TrillerTV recently filed a lawsuit against its parent company, Triller Group, Inc. (TGI), over claims that TGI’s dysfunction during its financial crisis prevented them from paying AEW its overdue revenues and caused the collapse of their working relationship.
Thurston reported that TrillerTV recently filed the lawsuit under its corporate entity, Flipps Media, before the Delaware Chancery Court. TrillerTV is asking the court to appoint its executives as the streamer’s board of directors so it can explore a sale or bankruptcy.
Thurston reported that TrillerTV’s lawsuit included a formal notice that it had sent to their parent company this past December to inform TGI of TrillerTV’s cash-flow insolvency, which would prevent the company from paying AEW the $3.7 million it owed at the time.
Thurston also reported that AEW’s lawsuit alleges that TGI “drained TrillerTV of its revenues and put that cash toward expenses for TGI’s other businesses, including its social media platform. The Triller app was positioned as a TikTok competitor, but its website doesn’t appear to be currently functioning.”
In the notice, TrillerTV executives claimed a lack of communication with TGI CEO Wing-Fai Ng caused them to be forced to obtain hard money loans, which is a type of high-interest loan often secured against real estate property, to repay debts owed to AEW. TrillerTV stated it took on over $600,000 in interest just to get $1,475,000 in funding.
TrillerTV executives also alleges that broken promises from TGI lead to their working relationship with AEW falling apart over the unpaid payments owed to AEW.
In the notice, TrillerTV claimed that Ng was supposed to deliver a plan for paying AEW by March 28th but nothing emerged from the meetings with TrillerTV President and COO Eric Winter.
Thurston reported that emails in the notice revealed an urgency from TrillerTV executives to hear back from TGI to resolve their payment issues with AEW. Winter and now-former Triller board member Bobby Sarnevesht exchanged several emails over the situation.
Winter wrote: “No response from you [Ng] for three days and I am getting worried (again).”
Sarnevesht emailed: “What’s the plan here? @wing going dark isn’t going to resolve this issues. [sic] The company is further put into harm’s way. Never seen a ‘operator’ not respond in a crisis time.”
The next day, Ng wrote back with what’s said to be his only response throughout what’s described in the document as a “period of crisis communications.”
“WHY THE FUCK YOU COPIED TO BOBBY!?” Ng wrote to Winter and Jordanov, referring to Bobby Sarnevesht, who was a Triller board member at the time, according to the account from TrillerTV executives.
Thurston reported that the notice from Winter and TrillerTV CEO Kosta Jordanov characterizes that response from Ng as follows: “Rather than addressing the imminent loss of our largest customer [AEW], the threat of bankruptcy, or the urgent funding needs, the CEO of our Parent company chose to respond only to object to the inclusion of a Board member on urgent, governance-related correspondence.”
In the notice, Winter wrote to TGI on April 2, 2025 warning that TrillerTV runs the risk of ceasing operations the next week if the money that urgently was needed was not wired “now.”
“Please confirm the wire is being sent ‘now’… TRILLERTV RUNS THE RISK OF CEASING OPERATIONS NEXT WEEK IF THE WIRE DOESN’T LAND – AND THIS TURNS INTO ANOTHER UNFULFILLED PROMISE.”
Winter and Jordanov reportedly sent further messages to the TGI board of directors warning them of “imminent AEW termination and TrillerTV insolvency.” They also stated that they needed Ng’s signature for a $4 million hard money loan that would have covered the AEW debt. Thurston reported that they got no response according to their account of the situation.
In the notice, Winter wrote to TGI informing them “I have warned leadership for months this time was coming. Kosta advised the BOD last month and no one responded” following TrillerTV losing its AEW United States pay-per-view distribution rights.
Thurston reported that the notice also states that three companies made offers to purchase TrillerTV during the company’s financial crisis, including Fubo who made an offer for $19.6 million in October 10, 2025 for the company and its stake in boxing promotion Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Ng allegedly rejected Fubo’s offer because Triller would “never consider” selling a single share of BKFC for anything less than $12 per share. Fubo TV reportedly had valued the BKFC shares at $3 per share instead. TrillerTV executives claimed this rejection was made without any documented board process, written analysis, or credible market basis.
The notice also stated that there were also “active discussions” with certain other parties, including TNA’s parent company Anthem Sports, and “Source Digital (in conjunction with BKFC), Offspin Ventures, Midas Atlantic (financial sponsor), Critical Point (financial sponsor).”
Thurston reported that the notice also warned TGI that “[i]f AEW terminates our distribution agreement entirely or if we are unable to meet critical vendor obligations, the platform will become non-viable, and we will be unable to operate client solutions”
In the notice, TrillerTV executives stated “TGI must now determine whether it wishes to support TrillerTV as a going concern or direct an orderly wind-down.”
Thurston reported that TrillerTV executives offered three options to TGI to help resolve its issues, which were immediate financial support, authorization to complete a sale, or a controlled shutdown of TrillerTV. TrillerTV set a deadline of January 7, 2026 for a decision to be made.
Thurston also reported that a judge had granted Flipps’ motion this past Friday to expedite their lawsuit due to the company’s dire financial situation.
