Backstage Update on Chad Gable’s Post-El Grande Americano Push Plans

As noted before, this past May’s AAA Noche de Los Grandes 2026 event in Monterrey, Mexico featured El Grande Americano defeating Original El Grande Americano in a Mask vs. Mask match and Chad Gable unmasking himself after he lost the match. Gable has made appearances in recent weeks of WWE RAW and SmackDown shows making amends to Penta, Rey Mysterio, and Dragon Lee and apologizing for his actions as Original El Grande Americano towards them and lucha libre.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that there has been a strong internal push within WWE for Gable to be featured in a significant way at this August’s SummerSlam 2026 event. Those spoken to reportedly stated that this year’s event taking place in Gable’s hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota and the overwhelming fan support he has received following his run as Original El Grande Americano have been major factors for this internal push.

It was reported that many within WWE praised Gable as being one of the company’s most gifted performers.

Danhausen Reportedly Did Not Attend New York Knicks NBA Title Celebration Parade

As noted before, the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs to win this year’s NBA Finals and become champions for the first time since 1973. The Knicks’ title winning run was notable for Danhausen’s involvement in him uncursing the team following his feud with ESN personality Stephen A. Smith. Following the team’s championship victory, Danhausen was invited to attend the Knicks’ victory celebration parade on Thursday in New York City.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Danhausen was not in attendance at today’s NBA Championship parade for the New York Knicks in New York City. Johnson reported that Danhausen was seen in the city in Thursday.

Johnson reported that several of his friends who had attended the parade stated that there were a number of Danhausen shirts being worn by Knicks fans.
