Anna Jay AEW Contract Update – Jay Signed New Extension & Dealing with Injury for Reason for Current AEW Abscense

As noted before, Anna Jay’s contract with AEWwas believed to be set to expire at some point this past Spring. Jay last wrestled for AEW at the June 6th AEW Collision show in a tag team match with Tay Melo against Divine Dominion for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship.

AEW CEO Tony Khan held a media scrum today to promote this Sunday’s AEW Redemption event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. One of the topics discussed included Khan providing an update on Jay’s contract status with AEW stating that she had recently signed a contract extension to remain in the company for the foreseeable future.

Khan also stated that the reason for Jay’s current abscense from AEW is due to her dealing with an injury.

“Anna is in very good standing with us. Anna is out injured right now. I was hoping to book her in recent weeks and she has an injury. Last week, she was going for an MRI. She is in good standing and has a lot of time left, she’s extended her contract with AEW. She is going to be staying in AEW.”
