This past Saturday’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York featured Lyra Valkyria defeating Bayley in a singles match and attacked her after the match. This past Monday’s WWE RAW show featured Valkyria making an appearance during an ad break segment on Netflix and told both Byron Saxton and WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca that she had dropped the dead weight and claimed to have ran Bayley out of WWE. Bayley’s contract with WWE is currently set to expire at the end of this year baring any injury time being added to it.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that the only thing told to him by his sources was that Bayley has a big decision to make in regards to her future in WWE.
Meltzer also confirmed that Bayley’s contract still has several months remaining and stated that it is not known when or if Bayley will return to WWE programming. Meltzer reported that the way her match ended and Valkyria’s comments at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show made it sound like a blowoff to their feud but it is possible she could come back in a couple of weeks and attack Valkyria to keep things going if WWE officials go in that direction.
Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez also brought up Bayley’s situation compared to Ricochet when he was written off WWE programming in June of 2024 after an attack from Bron Breakker.
Dave Meltzer – “With Ricochet, he had not signed his new deal, and when he kept not signing his deal, they started assuming he was gone. There were even stories out that he was gone before he decided he was gone. But he was leaning toward being gone, and in the end he was gone. But if you remember that last angle that they did with him, it was done in a way where, if he signed his contract, it was gonna lead to a return based on that angle.”
Bryan Alvarez – “I think this is the exact same thing. If (Bayley) ends up re-signing, then there’s a built-in angle with Lyra. And if she doesn’t re-sign, Lyra destroyed her and sent her out of the company. So I think that’s exactly what’s going on.”
