Sky Sports held a recent interview with Claudio Castagnoli. One of the topics discussed included Castagnoli’s thoughts about if he has a wrestler’s WhatApp chat.
“I have group chats with different wrestlers. There’s obviously a Death Riders group chat, I have a coffee group chat. I mean, you keep in touch with your friends and if you wrestle and have been wrestling for a long time, you obviously have a bunch of wrestler friends. So there’s a bunch of group chats.”
Castagnoli also gave his thoughts about what gets shared in the Death Riders’ group chat.
“In the Death Riders group chat, there’s always a lot of moves and holds and stuff like that. Video clips and stuff, or training techniques, or whatever. It keeps you on your toes because every time I want to be lazy, I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ve got to go work out,’ which is the good part.”
Castagnoli also gave his thoughts about celebrities getting involved with pro wrestling is not a new thing and social media influencers becoming wrestlers because of the business evolving these days.
“This is not a brand new thing. There was always celebrities or maybe football, like in the past was more football players for example, or bodybuilders or stuff like that. Now it’s influencers because of how everything evolved. As much as that is part of the business, because it brings in a new audience and it keeps things interesting, I feel the core of the wrestling business is still wrestling and you shouldn’t lose that.”
