Joey Janela Says Orange Crush Tried To Get Marcus Mathers To Burn His WWE ID Contract In The Middle Of A Ring

As noted before, Joey Janela announced on Tuesday that he and Megan Bayne have pulled out of their upcoming co-produced Volume 4: Janelasus Rex! event for PRODUCE Wrestling and he will no longer be working for or with PRODUCE going forward due to issues involving PRODUCE promoter Adam Abdalla.

A recent episode of Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds podcast featured Janela as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Janela’s thoughts about his praise of WWE ID talent Marcus Mathers for staying out of any drama in the world of wrestling and his issues with Orange Crush’s announcement of them terminating a wrestler’s future bookings with them if they decide to cancel a scheduled booking with them for another promotion if they are not a full-time signed contract with another promotion.

“This shit with Marcus Mathers is such bullshit. Marcus Mathers, he’s the top of the top right now when comes to indies. Hard working, no drama, never gets involved in any drama. Just goes and wrestles his fucking ass off. To get brought into that like that is just such bullshit. It’s not even his doing. That’s someone that uses the WWE ID program to his full benefit. He sends X-PAC his matches, AJ Styles watches his matches. He gets those critiques. He goes to Nattie’s once a month when he’s down there at the performance center, twice a month. That’s just a hard working guy, then you bring him into this fucking bullshit because you’re like, fight the machine, fight fucking corporate wrestling and burn it to the ground. Indie wrestling forever. Fuck everyone else, don’t sign these contracts, but don’t prioritize a shitty 1PM show the day before my 8PM Monday pay-per-view. It’s just whatever dude. For him to bring that shit up, bringing Marcus into it which is just bullshit.”

Janela also gave his thoughts about how Orange Crush tried to convince Mathers to burn his WWE ID contract in the middle of the ring at a PRODUCE event.

“There’s other stories like him sending him like 30 text messages in a row trying to get him to burn the WWE ID contract in a garbage can in the middle of the ring and shit. Shit that Marcus would never even fathom doing, ever. This guy is that delusional or that hopped up on something that Marcus will be like, hell yeah, let’s fucking do it man, let’s burn that WWE ID contract. I don’t ever want to wrestle at WrestleMania, I just want to stay here with you Adam in fucking Brooklyn, New York in a fucking warehouse for the rest of my fucking life.”

Stephen Farrelly, former Sheamus in WWE, recently announced on Twitter that he will be launching a new workout series on his official YouTube channel called “Brave Change, S. Farrelly Workouts.” Farrelly previously held a workout series called “Celtic Warrior Workouts” on YouTube during his time in WWE.

A new official poster for the upcoming new live action animated film Coyote vs. Acme starring John Cena was recently released.

PRODUCE Wrestling recently announced that Karl Fredericks will be making an appearance at their PRODUCE Volume 5: Skoden event on October 12 in Brooklyn, New York.

AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale was among the notable people who had attended the red carpet premiere for the newest season of television series Ted Lasso for Apple TV this past Tuesday in New York City, New York.

All Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Atsuki Aoyagi recently suffered an ACL injury and will be out of action for the company for the foreseeable future. It was also announced that they have pulled Aoyagi from this year’s upcoming Zennichi Junior Festival tournament. It was also announced that Aoyagi and Rising HAYATO have relinquished their AJPW All Asia Tag Team Championship as a result of Aoyagi’s injury situation.

In a recent interview with News4JAX’s Going Ringside podcast, Debra Marshall, former Debra McMichael in WCW and WWE, revealed that she is currently involved in the filming for a new documentary on HBO. Marshall stated “Yes! Absolutely. They have been in New Orleans and they’re filming a documentary on the criminal justice system, and mainly at the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office… I’m a Victim Witness Coordinator so I work with victims of violent crimes and in the trials, and so they’ve been in the office filming the prosecutors, our D.A.
