WWE Shareholder Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon Over His WWE Return in 2023 & Sale to Endeavor Update – WWE & Vince McMahon’s Total Settlement Payment Revealed To Be $147.5 Million

As noted before, a group of WWE shareholders filed a lawsuit in November of 2023 against former TKO and WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon over claims that McMahon had engaged in a “sham sale process” for WWE’s sale to Endeavor. McMahon, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE President Nick Khan, and others executives were accused of destroying evidence related to the lawsuit. Both McMahon and Khan were sanctioned by the court this past May for destroying evidence related to the lawsuit case. An agreement in principle for a settlement deal was reached this past June resulting in the trial for the lawsuit being cancelled. WWE’s portion of the settlement payment was revealed earlier this month to be $105 million.

Bloomberg Law reported that former WWE and TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon and his insurers have agreed to pay $42.5 million to resolves the merger lawsuit based on recent court records.

It was reported that a total amount of $147.5 million in settlement payment from WWE and McMahon was disclosed in a court filing by WWE’s shareholders on Friday.

It was also reported that an attorney for the plaintiffs had complained to the court that dye to WWE’s parent company TKO Group’s “partial disclosures” and delays in finalizing the settlement that “the press has now circulated an incomplete picture of the full settlement.”

In a letter to the court, the shareholders claimed that WWE dragging things out has been creating more problems. This issue was stated to revolve around a dispute between attorneys for McMahon and attorneys for WWE over details of their legal contract in regards to one party promised to pay for the financial losses, damages, or legal costs of another party.

WWE’s attorneys reportedly described this disagreement as being a “narrow” one while attorneys for McMahon had confirmed to the shareholders attorneys that he was ready to sign off on the settlement. WWE shareholders attorney Kim Evans claimed that WWE has “refused to authorize filing” even though their lawyers had been participating in editing the written agreement between both sides.

Evans also stated that this dispute is only between WWE and McMahon and this issue is not their problem.

Presiding judge, Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster, has yet to issue an official response to the letters filed in regards to this dispute.
