As noted before, Sheamus departed from WWE this past July following him turning down WWE’s offer for a restructured contract extension deal. Sheamus’ contract with WWE was set to expire on October 1. Sheamus is believed to get interest from AEW once he enters free agency.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that Sheamus’ contract with WWE has expired and he is currently a free agent.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources also confirmed that Sheamus is currently a free agent. Meltzer reported that WWE officials had made it public they were not going to renew Sheamus but were going to pay him for the remainder of his deal for the reason for his abscense from the company.
Sheamus reflected earlier today on Twitter about his current free agency and him currently going by the name of S. Farrelly for his post-WWE career ring name.
