WWE Congratulates Michael Sam – Extends New Invitation

WWE.com posted the following today, congratulating Michael Sam on signing with the Dallas Cowboys….

Congratulations to Michael Sam on signing with the Dallas Cowboys! WWE will extend its invitation for Michael Sam to appear on any future Monday Night Raw he wishes. We offer our support for Michael as he continues his journey.

WWE had previously invited Sam to appear on Monday’s Raw, but once reports started to surface that he would be signing with the Cowboys, WWE removed all mentions of their initial invitation from their website. Sam is the first openly gay player in the NFL, and with Monday Night Football opening the season next week with two games, WWE looked to gain some interest and viewers with the Sam invitation.
