» Maria Kanellis is in talks with TNA Wrestling to join the organization. She was released from her WWE contract on Feb. 26. Both sides just began discussing a deal and thus it’s too early to detail specifics. The former WWE Diva recently inked a deal with Mark Cuban’s HDNet/HDNet Fights as a backstage announcer and made her debut last month at the King of the Cage event in Reno, Nevada. Her position with HDNet would not prevent her from joining TNA.
» Charlie Haas and Jackie Gayda have had discussions with TNA on joining the organization once the former tag team champion’s ninety-day no-compete clause with WWE expires. He was released from World Wrestling Entertainment on Feb. 28. Gayda briefly worked with TNA several years ago as a member of Jeff Jarrett’s stable, Planet Jarrett. She parted ways with the organization in May 2006 after announcing she was pregnant. She subsequently retired from the wrestling industry altogether.
» As noted earlier, TNA is interested in signing Shelton Benjamin, especially since Charlie Haas was recently released from WWE also. There have already been talks between Shelton and TNA but he’s got a 90 day no-compete clause as well. Believe it or not, there was talk over the weekend of re-forming Team Angle with Kurt Angle, Shelton and Haas, something that was done in WWE almost a decade ago. We shall see.
