According to sources, Daniel Bryan not being in the WWE World Heavyweight Title match is due in large part to concerns over his health. The source notes that officials are worried that the neck injury that kept him on the shelf last year could come popping back up as a recurring problem.
The concern among officials is that Bryan went for the short-term solution to fix his neck as opposed to a more long-term fix. One source compared Bryan’s situation to that of Kurt Angle, as Angle underwent several non-invasive surgeries on his neck that helped in the short-term but caused further injuries and other issues in the long-term.
