As noted, Daniel Bryan was injured during his match in Dublin, Ireland on April 9th. According to sources, Bryan was actually first injured during his March 31st SmackDown match with Sheamus, and went into the European tour “banged up.” The injury that happened during the 4/9 match likely made matters worse and ended up resulting in WWE sending him home early.
As things stand now, Bryan is expected to miss five weeks of action, so it’s doubtful he will be working the Payback pay-per-view on May 17th. WWE hasn’t mentioned whether or not he will still be defending the I-C title against Bad News Barrett at Extreme Rules this Sunday, but it doesn’t appear that he will.
