CM Punk Jokes About Facing Samoa Joe – Details

Following Samoa Joe saying earlier this month that CM Punk wants “one last go” with him in a wrestling ring, Punk has now “teased” a potential match with Joe…but not in WWE. And by “teased,” I mean “joked about.” Punk made the comment after AIW promoter/co-owner John Thorne suggested he would be willing to cancel Joe’s match with Johnny Gargano this weekend if Punk would show up:

Obviously, this whole thing is just a joke between the two that has the added benefit of getting some visibility for AIW’s shows. Punk is training for his UFC debut and working a wrestling match would make that unlikely; Punk is also under UFC contract and thus would probably need approval from Dana White to do something like that.
