It appears as if we may not get a second season of Lucha Underground that starts filming before the end of the year. According to sources, the company is telling talent that they can accept independent bookings through the end of the year.
Lucha Underground’s contracts have given the company priority over other indy companies on booking days, which means that it is unlikely they would tell talent to book days if they planned to set up filming by the end of this year. There’s been no official word on a second season, with previous reports suggesting that it is likely to happen but that some budgetary and other logistics need to be worked out.
