As we previously reported, Judge Pamela Campbell sealed fifteen separate documents in Hulk Hogan’s legal battle with Gawker to protect his privacy. The court describes the documents as back-and-forth discussions between Hogan and Gawker between May 2014 and August 2015.
Gawker’s lawyer Seth Berlin said the sealing of the documents is “unfortunate” and it’s the media’s right for the legal process to be public. First Look Media, The Tampa Bay Times and The Associated Press are three of the media outlets who have requested for the documents to go public.
Campbell will, however, have the full sex tape shown during a hearing. She ruled that “the jury, the parties, their trial counsel and court personnel.”
She added: “When the video is played for the jury at trial, the monitors shall be turned in such a way so that only the jury, the parties, their trial counsel and court personnel may see the video. The public press shall not be excluded from the courtroom when the video is played and the pooled camera shall not be turned off during such time.”
