In a new press release, WWE and Snapchat have announced a multi-year partnership that will launch at this year’s Wrestlemania. Snapchat will cover Wrestlemania 32, which happens this Sunday at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as a Live Story. The show airs on the WWE Network at 7 PM ET. Snickers, the sponsor of the event, will be WWE’s first-ever Snapchat Live Story brand partner.
WWE Senior Vice President of Digital and Social Content Jayar Donian said: “We are thrilled to partner with Snapchat and provide our fans with a new way to experience WrestleMania. The Snapchat Live Story allows WWE fans to share their stories from our annual pop culture extravaganza and dive into the live action of WrestleMania in more ways, and from more perspectives, than ever before.”
Fans can add video and photo Snaps to the Live Story to capture “the real story of the event, straight from the fans, organizers, and everyone in between.” The Snaps that come from the Live Story will be curated and placed in a brief video that will be available to worldwide to over 100 million daily active users. Other WWE events will be covered with Snapchat Live Stories through the year.
Snapchat Director of Partnerships Ben Schwerin added: “By partnering with WWE for our coverage of WrestleMania and future events, we are able to bring Snapchatters and WWE fans new and old even closer to the action and behind-the-scenes of some of the biggest events in sports and entertainment.“
