Johnny Gargano lost a career vs. title match against Andrade “Cien” Almas on last night’s NXT episode, meaning he must “leave NXT.” He obviously still has an unresolved feud with Tommaso Ciampa and everything seems to be leading up to a match between them, so we’ll see where they go with this storyline.
You can check out the finish to last night’s match below, where Ciampa ran in and attacked Gargano with a crutch, costing him the match and “his career.”
WWE posted these videos of Gargano “formalizing his termination” and “leaving NXT.” Gargano is scheduled for some upcoming NXT house shows and they explained that by saying that Regal “allowed him to fulfill his final obligations.”
Johnny Gargano formalizes his termination from NXT, but he is informed by General Manager William Regal that he will still have to attend all prior obligations at NXT events.
Circumstances aside.. I'd like to thank @RealKingRegal for allowing me to fulfill my final @WWENXT obligations and say goodbye to the NXT fans at live events in a few cities that hold a special place in my heart. Let's make em' special. #ThankYouNXT https://t.co/hpaowOJ4Qc
