As noted before, the final episode of World of Sport’s first season drew around 200,000 viewers on ITV. Besides declining viewership, ITV’s original plans for World of Sport were plagued with a series of delays and serious issues leading to its rocky launch over the summer.
In regards to World of Sport’s future, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that it is likely that ITV will green-light a second season for World of Sport based on recent promotional material boasting about the series’ debut being the “highest-rated British wrestling show in 30 years.” ITV also has plans to hold a tour of the United Kingdom early next year. ITV is also working to license World of Sport to other European markets, which is another potential positive sign for the series’ future.
