“Who Attacked Aleister Black?” Revealed (NXT Spoilers)

At tonight’s NXT TV tapings, Johnny Gargano was revealed as Aleister Black’s mystery attacker.

William Regal came to the ring to announce Tommaso Ciampa’s opponent at NXT TakeOver, but Ciampa interrupted him. Velveteen Dream then came out, followed by Lars Sullivan. They had words and Sullivan started choking Dream until Nikki Cross ran out, saying “he’s here.” Aleister Black then ran out and nailed Lars Sullivan with a Black Mass. Johnny Gargano then ran out… and nailed Aleister Black with a super kick out of nowhere, revealing himself as the mystery attacker.

Aleister Black suffered a “crotch” injury at the end of July, which required surgery and caused him to miss his match at NXT TakeOver Brooklyn. NXT then wrote him off TV with a “mystery attacker” angle, showing him laid out in a parking lot. Over the next several weeks, NXT ran segments where William Regal was trying to find out who attacked Aleister Black.

There were no other segments between Black and Gargano at the tapings, but after a Nikki Cross match, Candice LeRae, who is married to Johnny Gargano, came out to confront her. Aleister Black then came out and said something off mic to Candice, then walked to the back.
