John Cena was interviewed by canoe.com and said that none of his scheduled WWE appearances over the next month will be televised.
Cena is scheduled for several shows starting on December 26 at MSG until January 14. All of the shows but one are house shows, so those won’t be televised, but WWE did also list the January 7 Raw, so the expectation was that he’d be on TV for at least that one show. But that seems like it might not be the case and it’s possible that he’ll just appear in a dark match segment or something.
Here’s what Cena said:
“I was given the choice of taking one month to catch my breath and live what I would call a normal life. It took me about two seconds to turn that down. On December 26th, I return to Madison Square Garden and do a nice live event run with the WWE right up through the middle of January.
“None of these shows are televised. I’m literally just doing it because I want to get back to a place I feel most comfortable and to working with people I can call my family. And I want to have some fun.”
It was also noted in the article that Cena will begin shooting a new movie in Vancouver on January 20, so after this brief WWE return, he’s probably going to be out for a while again. Two upcoming movies starring Cena are in pre-production: The Janson Directive and Playing With Fire.
