Lars Sullivan and WWE are in communication and Lars could be back soon, according to Dave Meltzer.
At a media call on Thursday, Triple H was asked about Lars’s status and said that fans would just have to “wait and see” and there was “much more to come,” clearly hinting that WWE still has plans for Lars, and possibly soon.
WWE’s original plan was for Lars to wrestle John Cena at WrestleMania. Lars was apparently supposed to attack Cena on a Raw in early January, which would have taken Cena out of the Royal Rumble, but Lars didn’t appear after what was said to be an anxiety attack. In late January, Lars’s “representative” said on Twitter that Lars is “in a good place.”
John Cena
In a possibly related story, John Cena will reportedly have a match at WrestleMania this year, but his opponent is being kept secret. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s being kept so secret that “even people who know everything don’t know that one.”
According to Meltzer, Cena won’t be facing Kurt Angle and Angle is still expected to actually wrestle Baron Corbin.
Lars Sullivan obviously comes to mind as a possible opponent for Cena. Or if Cena ends up wrestling someone else, Meltzer speculated that WWE could have Lars run in and destroy Cena after the match, but added that he doesn’t know if Lars is actually ready to return yet, but Triple H did seem to hint at it and if he doesn’t return at WrestleMania, it seems like he will be back soon.
