WWE’s working relationship with Full Sail University reportedly has recently ended, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s issue that WWE will be upgrading their Performance Center over the next month to be the new long-term home for their NXT brand.
Meltzer reported that while WWE’s working relationship with Full Sail University for their NXT brand is now over, it is currently not known if NXT will still continue to use Full Sail students as interns to help produce NXT shows. Prior to its expiration, this working relationship for NXT had existed since 2012.
Meltzer also reported that the reason why NXT will be taping three weeks worth of episodes at the Performance Center next week is due to WWE’s current construction plans schedule. The Karrion Kross and Samoa Joe brawl that destroyed parts of the arena during this past Wednesday’s episode reportedly was meant to be the storyline reason for NXT’s upcoming new look for television.
Meltzer reported that his sources stated that the current belief within the company is that NXT shows have looked too dark on television so the main goals are to make NXT’s studio brighter in terms of more lights and colors. The plexiglass barrier that has been in place since the coronavirus pandemic reportedly might also be removed as well as part of these new changes.
