Ring of Honor reportedly generated over 20,000 pay-per-view buys from streaming and traditional PPV providers for their Supercard of Honor event this past Friday, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer reported that the early PPV buys numbers and estimates does not include those who purchased and watched the event from ROH’s HonorClub service. Meltzer reported that it is currently not known how many people watched the event from that service.
Meltzer reported that he considers the number to be “phenomenal” based on the stiff competition ROH’s event faced that night, which included going head-to-head against WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown show and AEW’s Rampage show. ROH’s event also competed that night against New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Lonestar Shootout event, Impact Wrestling’s Multiverse of Matches event, and Game Changer Wrestling’s Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6 Part 1 event.
In regards to comparisons to recent ROH events, Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert reported that the PPV buy rates for ROH’s events in 2021 are not known but Best in the World 2020 had generated around 3,500 buys and Death Before Dishonor 2020 had generated around 800 buys.
