As noted before, AEW recently scheduled for a meeting between CM Punk, Chris Jericho, FTR, and AEW CEO Tony to take place within the near future. This upcoming meeting was meant to determine if Punk and Jericho would be able to repair their working relationship in AEW and as part of AEW’s plans for their upcoming new third weekly television show.
PWTorch’s Wade Keller reported that his sources stated that this meeting took place this past Friday. These same sources reportedly also stated that this meeting had gone well.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that this meeting had taken place this past weekend and that it was “relatively uneventful all things considered, and especially when taken into consideration the issues the two have had.”
It was also reported that when Punk first joined AEW, Jericho had approached him to “establish that bygones were bygones, and Punk had replied in kind, as long as there were no reason to have issues going forward.”
Those spoken to reportedly stated that they felt that it seemed as if Punk and Jericho could end up working together again without issue but also brought up Punk’s recent history in AEW and Jericho’s long-term history of welcoming confrontation.
