As noted before, AEW CEO Tony Khan recently announced that this past August’s All In event at Wembley Stadium is estimated to have generated around close to 200,000 pay-per-view buys. Khan also announced that this past Sunday’s All Out 2023 event is estimated to have generated over 100,000 PPV buys.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW’s All In event is currently estimated to have generated around 192,000 buys based on updated estimates and data.
In terms of breakdowns, Meltzer reported that All In’s cable television PPV buys were up 37.5% compared to this past June’s Forbidden Door II event while their streaming buys were not up at the same percentage level. AEW’s late buys for All In reportedly were well ahead of the pace of most of AEW’s PPV events.
Meltzer reported that based on the current estimates, All In is currently expected to end up generating the second highest ever PPV buys for an AEW event in AEW history, only behind All Out 2021 which generated around 215,000 buys in total.
In regards to All Out 2023, Meltzer reported that the event is currently estimated to have generated between 73,000 to 96,000 PPV buys.
Meltzer reported that one big reason for his lower end number estimate is due to only 38% of those who had purchased All In had also purchased All Out 2023. Meltzer reported that one big reason for his higher end estimate is due to the streaming buys for All Out 2023 were at a much higher percentage than All In’s streaming buys. Meltzer also reported that another key factor that will influence how much of a movement there will be involves how well or not the late buys were for All Out 2023 once those numbers are more known next week.
