As noted before, an upcoming new wrestling-based documentary series based on Vince McMahon has been in production with executive producer Bill Simmons since 2020. This series was originally scheduled to premiere on Netflix but its status for the service has been in doubt following McMahon’s sexual misconduct and hush money payment allegations.
A recent Bloomberg Screentime conference featured Simmons as a guest. One of the topics discussed included Simmons providing an update on the status of the documentary’s production
“We have, this Vince McMahon documentary that we’ve been working on for three years, I think it has the chance to be really great. I think it has a chance to be the best one I’ve been involved with. I’ll be interested to see what people think about that one. It was a lot of time and one where Netflix still has final cut of it and it’s a little more old school like the 30 For 30 model was. I think it has the chance to be really special.”
Simmons also stated that McMahon has no final say for the final cut for the documentary but he will be able to view clips from it before it’s official release.
“Not the giving notes on the final cut part. He gets to look at clips.”
