As noted before, Booker T claimed in a recent episode of his The Hall of Fame podcast that he was almost involved in a backstage incident with CM Punk at this past Tuesday’s NXT tapings at WWE’s Performance Center.
Fightful Select reported that their sources within NXT stated that there was a general sense of skepticism over Booker T’s comments regarding this incident with CM Punk. It was reported that none of those spoken to were aware of the alleged incident before Booker had mentioned it on his podcast show. One source spoken to reportedly stated that Punk has not had any issues backstage since his return to the company this past November. This same source reportedly also stated that they were surprised that Booker would mention this alleged incident on his podcast without giving any other details about it.
It was reported that security were not made aware of any confrontation taking place nor was there any talk at all about it backstage.
One talent spoken to reportedly denied such an incident taking place and brought up that Booker had previously made claims of heat with Corey Graves on his show that turned out to be false.
In regards to Booker, it was reported that there was a general feeling of frustration among those spoken to regarding Booker making that type of claim about Punk given Punk’s history of backstage altercations.
It was reported that NXT sources spoken to stated that Punk has been very helpful backstage and had been open to helping whenever he is backstage at NXT shows.
In regards to Punk, it was reported that he was stated to have been in a good mood throughout the show and largely stayed to himself beyond some conversations with Shawn Michaels, Matt Bloom, and a few NXT talents.
