As noted before, Shane McMahon and AEW CEO Tony Khan held a private meeting this past July in Arlington, Texas to discuss “possibilities moving forward” in regards to McMahon potentially working for AEW in the future.
In recent weeks, Jon Moxley formed a new faction in AEW with Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Marina Shafir. Moxley has also given several cryptic promos alluding to a mystery person being the mastermind of Moxley’s group and their recent violent actions. This led to online speculation of McMahon being the mystery person that Moxley has been teasing.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources within AEW denied the rumors of McMahon being involved in Moxley’s storyline. Those stated that McMahon being the leader or part of the group is not AEW officials intended direction and destination for Moxley’s current storyline.
