Mariah May AEW Contract & WWE Interest Update
As noted before, “The Glamour” Mariah May’s contract with AEW is currently believed to be expiring either this summer or this November. May is also currently believed to be potentially leaving AEW for WWE once her contract expires.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that May’s contract is still set to expire this August based on May had said in the past that she signed with AEW in August of 2023.
Sapp reported that while it could be possible that May’s contract might expire this November, that would have meant she would have signed her original contract for two years and three months in length in order for that to happen. Sapp implied that this would be a bit odd to do for a contract.
Josh Alexander Comments on Telling Scott D’Amore He Hoped to Start as a Heel & Be With Don Callis a Month Before AEW Debut
A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured Josh Alexander as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Alexander’s thoughts about him making his official debut in AEW at this past April’s Dynamite Spring BreakThru show and him aligning with Don Callis.
“I had a conversation with Scott [D’Amore] probably a month before I debuted because I didn’t know what was going on and I was still waiting on visas and stuff like that. I was like, “I kind of hope I get put me with Don and they make me a heel starting out.’ You can come in as a babyface and if it hits, it hits, but for me, personal experience, I started in TNA as a heel, I wanted to start in AEW as a heel as well because I could establish everything there. The best babyfaces, to me, start as a heel and naturally turn to babyfaces because the crowd comes with you over everything you’ve done. Don is a good person to have from a coaching perspective to tell those stories and do all that stuff other than in-ring wrestling. He’s a good guy to have to go to bat for you to tell those stories as well.”

In a recent interview with the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Lance Archer gave his thoughts about the idea of a “Meat Division” in AEW and him feeling it is awesome to be considered part of it by fans. Archer stated “I think it’s awesome because I think it gives us kind of our own platform. We’re always considered like the super heavyweights or whatever you want to call them, but giving it the name like Meat, something that the fans can really dig their teeth into, to say the least. When they start chanting Meat, Meat, Meat every time we’re crashing into each other. It kind of really started to come about when Sting had his retirement show and we were supposed to have the Meat Madness match, but ultimately it turned into the All-Star scramble, but then there was still that moment where you had like Brian Cage before he and I were together, Will Hobbs, Wardlow, myself, and we all just started running into each other as hard as we could, and the crowd was just there for it. They were chanting, meat, meat, meat, and I think they wanted more meat. Obviously we had a lot more guys in the match and things got moved around and we got going in different directions. But I think it’s one of those things that I think our fan base really enjoys the big, bad dudes running into each other as hard as we can, punching each other in the face as hard as we can, and just kind of hearing that meat hit each other in the face.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
