Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources clarified that R-Truth’s departure was not due to him being actually released but instead WWE officials informing him that his contract will not be renewed.
Prior to his announcement, R-Truth had been with WWE since 2008 following a prior stint with the company from 1999 to 2001. R-Truth last wrestled for WWE on the May 30th WWE SmackDown show in a losing effort to JC Mateo.
