Kevin Von Erich Signs Legends Type Contract with AEW

A recent episode of The Claw with Ross & Marshall Von Erich podcast featured The Von Erichs announcing that their father and wrestling legend Kevin Von Erich recently signed a Legends type contract with AEW.

Marshall Von Erich – “My dad is officially AEW. He’s on the team. He’s with AEW now. We were surprised, too. ‘Yeah man, I’m on the team now.

Ross Von Erich – “He’s basically got sort of a legends deal kind of thing, which is awesome. AEW was able to do some cool stuff like that.

Marshall – “I’m so happy AEW…guys that didn’t have a full career in WWE or don’t have a long history with them, it’s cool to have a place for them. What they know, they still have tons of tools to help younger guys. Having guys like my dad in the locker room, you’ll get better. When my dad is in the locker room, he’ll be in deep conversation with one of the wrestlers. It’s crazy who he impacts and talks to. Ross and I were impressed with the people that really respect him. Will Ospreay, we saw him in passing, and he loved our family and was really impacted by it. You’re surprised at how many people know the story, especially in current wrestling. Will really is a student. MJF watches World Class all the time.

In a recent interview with the Wrestling Observer Radio, Kenny Omega gave his thoughts about Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland teaming up at All In Texas and how he has always wanted to prove he can do more than serious singles matches in his wrestling career. Omega stated “If something is working and if something can become a commodity, there is no reason to fight it. I do think the idea of ‘your top guys must be singles performers and must have singles matches,’ I’ve heard that my whole career as well. ‘If we’re getting Kenny, it better be a singles match with no hijinx, no interference.’ They just want it to be serious and hard-hitting. I’m sorry, but I feel like I have more to offer than that and I want to prove I have more to offer than that. I want to be able to have great tag matches and a great three-way or four-way. I want to be able to do a great battle royal or make people laugh if I need to, if that’s the appropriate place to do it. I think Will and Swerve want to prove that too. They want to prove they can be complete, all-around professional wrestlers. If having a great tag team run is a way for them to do that, show that, and there is money in that and the fanbase and viewership goes up because of it, no reason not to do it.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

Knight stated “Again, it’s an opportunity to be successful, an opportunity to show it’s me and Speedball will carry this company with the next few years in the 2020s and the 2030s. Nick Wayne got his time coming. Also, not only do I got to bring my best self, I got a couple of packages of Just for Men, for Bobby, for the whole Hurts Syndicate, for Christian as well. I got some Pampers in the back for my man Nick Wayne, too. Fake ID if he needs that for the after-party. We’ve got a couple of things in mind we want to bring to the party.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
