Hangman Adam Page Comments on Jon Moxley “Having The AEW World Title Hidden For So Long Is Disrespectful To The Entire Roster And Our Fans”

Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI held a recent interview with Hangman Adam Page. One of the topics discussed included Page’s thoughts about Jon Moxley keeping the AEW World Championship hidden in a briefcase for so long and him wanting to bring it back to the public eye for the fans and the roster.

“Uh, no. No, I don’t think so. Not for me, personally. For me, this championship represents everything good that I felt about All Elite Wrestling and wrestling as a whole. To have that hidden away for so long is disrespectful to, not just the entire roster but to all of our fans. I do feel a sense of responsibility to take that back out.”

Kevin Kelly & Tate Twins Defamation Lawsuit Against AEW Update – Kelly & Tate Twins File Appeal for Arbitration Ruling

As noted before, former AEW commentator Kevin Kelly and former AEW and ROH talents The Tate Twins (Brandon & Brent Tate), former The Boys, filed a defamation lawsuit this past September against AEW, AEW CEO Tony Khan, and AEW/ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni. This lawsuit was ruled this past June to be officially moved to private arbitration.

Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that Kelly and the Tate Twins filed a notice of appeal on Friday before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

In the filing, Kelly and the Tate Twins are asking for the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals to review this past June’s decision moving the lawsuit to private arbitration.

Thurston reported that it is currently not known if anything has transpired in arbitration at this point which is typical given the nature of that type of process.

In an official statement to Post Wrestling, Kelly and The Tate Twins’ attorney Stephen P New stated:

“The only issue being appealed is the arbitration portion of the order. Although I think there are issues which intersect, such as whether or not defendants Khan and Riccaboni should be covered by the arbitration provision” in the plaintiffs’ AEW contracts.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Warner Bros Discovery recently released the final data numbers for the viewership of shows on their networks for the 2025 fiscal second quarter. Meltzer reported that based on WBD’s data, AEW’s Dynamite rose from 589,000 total viewers per show average in 2024 fiscal fourth quarter to 627,000 total viewers per show average in 2025 fiscal second quarter. AEW’s Collision reportedly rose from 328,000 total viewers per show to 409,000 total viewers per show for the same time period. In regards to key demographic viewership, Meltzer reported that WBD’s data tracked 25-54 as the key demographic due to the loss of younger viewers to streaming services. Dynamite reportedly rose from 279,000 viewers to 301,000 viewers per show average and Collision rose from 145,000 viewers to 186,000 viewers per show average for the same time period. Meltzer reported that WBD’s numbers were for cable television only and did not include MAX viewership.

Dave Meltzer also reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that one reason why AEW’s viewership for their July 2nd Dynamite 300th episode declined compared to the prior week’s show was due to their lead-in programming Big Bang Theory failed to chart that night. Meltzer reported that this is believed to be the first time that this had happened in Dynamite history since its move to TBS.

In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned, Matthew Jackson gave his thoughts about All In will probably be his greatest wrestling legacy. Jackson stated “From running that first event several years ago in Chicago, when getting 10,000 people into an arena sounded impossible, to seeing it grow into an annual stadium show, where this year we’ll have 20,000-plus fans in attendance, it really does blow my mind. I’m humbled to have had the pleasure to take part in this movement from the very beginning. To be able to say not only was I there, but I helped it all happen, that’ll probably be my biggest wrestling legacy. I get to perform on the show I helped create, in the company I am a founding father of, a company that has succeeded so much more than even I could have ever imagined, company that forever will be called Elite, long after I’m gone.

In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned, Kenny Omega gave his thoughts about tribalism in wrestling fans and how fans needs to keep perspective when it comes to cheering for their favorites and negative comments towards those they hate. Omega stated “The truth of the matter is, those favorite sports teams may not necessarily feel the exact same way as you do toward the professional rivalry. I do think it’s great for us to have had the opportunity to be in public with it and say, ‘Hey, look, yeah, we’re competing, but it’s all in good fun.’ We’re doing this so you guys can share a laugh. It’s not so that you can write in on a smurf account online and say a bunch of nasty things that you’re probably going to regret if [people] ever found out it was really you.[If] you really have skin in the game, you’re involved at the business level of professional wrestling, perhaps you’re an investor, then maybe I can get it. Maybe I can understand why you’re really pushing hard for one team over another because you spent your life savings or something. But I think if it’s about just enjoying a product or enjoying a specific style of wrestling, or maybe your favorite athletes are in one place over another, just keep in mind that those athletes are also still human beings.
