Parking Lot: Solo Sikoa, MFT, Adam Pearce, Cody Rhodes

We open up out in the parking lot, where the Bloodline have seemingly gotten into a car crash with…someone. It’s all very unclear, as Cody confirms with Adam Pearce that they are still a go for the contract signing tonight.

But you guys aren’t friends? 🤨 @MsCharlotteWWE @AlexaBliss_WWE pic.twitter.com/N4L3Sfe5m4
We head to ringside as commentary hypes up the lineup for tonight, and backstage we see Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss having a chat about losing at Evolution. Chalotte reveals she’s gone to Pearce for a title match at SummerSlam. This raises some questions from Bliss, before Flair says that she has a match tonight against Raquel Rodriguez.
Charlotte Flair vs. Raquel Rodriguez
Two can play that game, @roxanne_wwe! 😡@AlexaBliss_WWE pic.twitter.com/AZaHb9sFjD
— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Rodriguez gets the upper hand early with some strikes, before Flair sends the Women’s Tag Champion to the outside before posing as we go to break.
Picture-in-Picture: Despite Flair’s early offense, Rodriguez regains control after bringing Charlotte back in the ring!
Back from break, Charlotte has managed to fight back from the corner before laying in some chops on the champ as the crowd woos in response. She takes Raquel to the mat for a pop from the fans, before sending Rodriguez to the corner. She sets up for a cross body onto Rodriguez…who rolls through to land a slam on the Queen for a two count!
She brings Charlotte back up to her feet, only for Flair to fight back with a boot. She goes for a figure four leglock, but Roxanne hops on the apron to distract her. The ref is preoccupied with this, allowing Bliss to attack Rodriguez on the top rope before Flair rolls her up after a thrust kick for the win!
Winner: Charlotte Flair via Pinfall.
The pair celebrate on the ramp as the champs stare them down from the ring.
Backstage: Adam Pearce, Jacob Fatu
Jacob Fatu, you have some explaining to do… 👀 pic.twitter.com/FmkXA85KVo
— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Backstage, a group of “San Antonio’s finest” ask Adam Pearce to help look for Jacob Fatu, and they quickly do this as the cops seem to have some questions for him about the crash that took place earlier today. He leaves with them after resisting at first, and Pearce just shakes his head at the situation as we go to commercial.

Queen of the Ring @Jade_Cargill goes head-to-head against @tiffstrattonwwe at SummerSlam with the WWE Women's Championship on the line 💪 pic.twitter.com/lkBAZkEO2B
After hyping up SummerSlam we go to a video package highlighting the upcoming WWE Women’s Championship match for the show, with words from champion Tiffany Stratton and the 2025 Queen of the Ring, Jade Cargill.
Video: R-Truth, Aleister Black, Damian Priest
We then look back at the match between R-Truth and Aleister Black, as Damian Priest tried to call Black down after the loss…to no avail, as Priest gets laid out!
Video: Damian Priest, Carmelo Hayes
We cut to earlier today as Damian goes looking for Aleister, leading to some words with Carmelo Hayes. Hayes says he warned Priest about Aleister, but Damian insists he’s going to make Black beg for forgiveness. He also talks about shutting people up, and offers a match to Melo tonight. Hayes says he’s been looking for an opportunity like this, before Priest says he hopes he keeps that energy for the match before walking off.
Video: Cody Rhodes
We head to ringside for our next match, as Carmelo Hayes makes his entrance before we get a special look at Cody Rhodes in the upcoming film Naked Gun.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Damian Priest

— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Back at ringside, Hayes awaits the arrival of Damian Priest to get our next match underway!
Hayes gets the jump on Priest before the bell even rings, calling for the ref to get this started. He goes right back to work on Damian in the corner as the crowd boos…but Priest stops him in his tracks. Hayes hits the ropes for speed but runs into a boot by Priest. Damian sends Melo to the ropes but takes a kick before Hayes leaves the ring. Priest follows him to the outside, only to get sent into the ring post by Melo before we go to commercial.
Back from break, Hayes maintains control as both men are back in the ring. He runs down Priest, who fires back up to lay into Melo. This doesn’t last for long, however, as Hayes catches him with a cutter off the ropes. He heads to the corner, invoking San Antonio’s own Shawn Michaels by “tuning up the band”…but a Sweet Chin Music is no good as he gets caught with a boot by Priest. Hayes starts to fight back, setting up for La Mistica…but Priest counters out! Melo heads to the corner to go after Priest, countering a South of Heaven into a Codebreaker. Splash off the top turnbuckle gets him a two count.
We get a (justified?) “this is awesome” chant as Priest leaves the ring for a breather. Hayes goes for a dive but gets caught, before Priest slams him onto the announce table. He brings Melo back to the ring before going “Old School” with a rope walk…only for Aleister Black to appear, knocking Damian off the rope as the ref calls for the bell!
Winner: Damian Priest via Disqualification.
Hayes eventually opts to leave the ring rather than deal with Black, who hits a Black Mass on Priest before sitting down beside him, saying “I heard you’re looking for me.”
Video: Wyatt Sicks
"Let The Wyatt Sicks be your guide. All you have to do is follow." 👀 pic.twitter.com/8frOTgvwhG
— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Commentary starts hyping up the rest of the lineup for tonight, but as they talk about the No. 1 Contender’s Match later tonight the feed is interrupted by the Wyatt Sicks, who deliver a message about stripping their foes of their wicked desires. They offer to be a guide to those who follow. With that, we cut to commercial.
In-Ring: Solo Sikoa, MFT, Jimmy Uso, Jacob Fatu, Adam Pearce
How the tables have turned 🤭
— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Solo Sikoa will be defending the United States Championship against Jacob Fatu at SummerSlam in a Steel Cage Match ⛓️ pic.twitter.com/x4wADpRvQ8
Back at ringside, Solo Sikoa and his Bloo–I mean, MFT–make their way down the ramp to what feels like an awfully muted response from the crowd. Solo has a microphone as he talks about tonight proving what kind of man Jacob Fatu really is, saying he only cares about himself. The crowd are getting more riled up as Sikoa talks about bringing Jacob to WWE and helping him feed his family…and how Fatu deserves none of it. Jacob betrayed the only real family he has, and Solo should’ve known. Once a criminal, always a criminal.
Solo is soon cut off as we get a look on the screen, where Jimmy Uso awaits the arrival of a police car as Jacob Fatu steps out. The cop says they’ve determined based on the footage that he is not the person of interest, and he is free to go.
With that, Jacob makes his way through Gorilla position, heading straight down the ramp…as Jimmy Uso catches the group by surprise! Fatu enters the ring to clean house, as we see Talla Tonga trying to dismantle Jimmy…only to take a dive through the ropes by Fatu! Talla rises back to his feet to stand, uh, tall before Jimmy and Jacob land some kicks leading to a cross body by Jimmy to send the tallest of Tongas to the floor.
Jacob gets back in the ring, as Jimmy stops Solo to bring him back in the ring for a thrust kick by the Samoan Werewolf. Jacob sets a chair up around the neck of Sikoa in the corner, but is cut off by JC Mateo before he can go through with the attack. Talla brings Sikoa out of the ring as Mateo and Tama take a splash and moonsault by the Fatu-Uso connection. Jacob grabs the chair to slam it against the back of Mateo and Tama, as we hear Adam Pearce come out to address Solo’s actions tonight.
He lets the United States Champion know that he will defend the title against Fatu at SummerSlam…inside a steel cage! He then calls for the police, saying “he’s all yours”…before we see them arrest Solo Sikoa! It seems we have our person of interest as the squad bring Sikoa up the ramp in handcuffs, Talla Tonga arguing with them as commentary hypes the match for SummerSlam.
Video: Jelly Roll, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul
We then take a look at Jelly Roll’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, a guest host appearance that includes Randy Orton showing up to chat about the match before Drew McIntyre appeared to get into it with Orton. The segment culminates with Jelly Roll sending Logan Paul through the host table with a chokeslam.
Video: Solo Sikoa, MFT, Jacob Fatu, Jimmy Uso, Adam Pearce
Back from break, we get a look back at what went down moments ago before commentary hypes the steel cage match made official for the United States Championship.
Stephanie Vaquer vs. Alba Fyre
.@Steph_Vaquer was one step ahead of @PiperNivenWWE 👊 pic.twitter.com/L4j8zmTL3a
— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Vaquer takes the fight to Fyre early on, setting up for a nearfall. She quickly sets up a bridge for another nearfall, before hitting some headbutts when both women are back up. Alba cuts her off at the ropes with a thrust kick before bringing Vaquer back in the ring. She goes up top for a senton, but lands on Stephanie’s knees (Stepha-knees?) which gives Vaquer the opening to deliver the Devil’s Kiss to the delight of everyone not named Alba Fyre. Vaquer then connects with the SVB for the victory!
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer via Pinfall.
The celebration is cut short when Piper Niven tries to rush her in the ring, but Vaquer sends her out of the ring to regroup with Fyre on the ramp.
Backstage: Street Profits, B-Fab, DIY, Candice LeRae
Backstage, we hear from Street Profits addressing their loss to the Wyatt Sicks last week. They’re keeping a close eye on the situation as we get ready to see new number one contenders named tonight…as DIY pop up to mock the Profits for losing and forcing them to “save the SmackDown tag division.” They make their exit as we go to ringside for our next match, where DIY make their way down the ramp before we go to commercial.
WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Fatal Four-way Match
DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) vs. (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs. Rey Fenix & Andrade
NEXT WEEK!@AndradeElIdolo and @ReyFenixMx will battle against The Wyatt Sicks in a WWE Tag Team Championship Match 🔥 pic.twitter.com/olU28r3GMf
— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Back at ringside, Fraxiom and Motor City Machine Guns are already in the ring and Andrade and Rey Fenix make their entrance to get this match underway!
Frazer and Sabin start things off as they trade offense, but it doesn’t take long for chaos to ensue before Andrade and Fenix clear the ring. Fraxiom get a measure of revenge before MCMG send them out of the ring for a baseball slide on DIY on the outside. Sabin hits a dive through the ropes to take them to the floor, and I dunno about you but I’m sure glad we got about 2-3 minutes of action before we go to commercial break!
Back in the ring, Shelley has managed to regain control as he takes down Gargano and Ciampa before Axiom tags himself in. Frazer runs in for a tag and the assist as they clear the ring once more, keeping their foes at bay before bringing Ciampa in. Tag back to Axiom as they cover for a two count. Andrade comes running in as Fenix catches a tag of his own, and the newest of the pairings take control with Andrade tagging in for a Three Amigos!
Tag to Fenix, who hits a frog splash for the cover…but a dogpile of sorts comes in for the save at two! Everyone goes at it in the ring now, until we’re left with MCMG and Frazer in the ring…before Axiom comes in as well. Sling Blade by Frazer as Fenix and Andrade slide in to take an opening. Slight slip here as they have to clear each other’s flight path to take down Fraxiom…but DIY come rushing in for a cradle by Ciampa and the two count. He connects with Project Ciampa on Axiom, but still only gets a nearfall as we go to picture-in-picture.
Picture-in-Picture: Ciampa stays on the attack, sending Axiom to the apron where the two trade strikes. Axiom takes control for a moment, but gets caught on the turnbuckle by Tommaso. They fight it out some more until Axiom gets caught up on the top rope, allowing Ciampa to drop him to the outside with an air raid crash onto the remaining participants! Everyone is struggling back to their feet until Gargano is the first up, with Ciampa sending Axiom back in the ring for a running knee that gets a nearfall. Tag made to Gargano, but Fairytale Ending gets interrupted with a tag from Sabin as we come back from break!
Shelley comes running in and they drop Gargano before turning their attention to Axiom. Andrade stops it for a blind tag, sending Sabin out of hte ring before standing over Axiom. Andrade goes up top but is intercepted by Axiom, who sets Andrade up for a Spanish Fly off the top. Blind tag to Frazer who goes up top as well, but Ciampa steals a tag of his own off the boot as he sends Nathan out for a cover…only to get it broken up by Fenix!
Ring gets cleared out as Andrade looks for a hammerlock DDT, but Candice LeRae distracts him for a roll up by Ciampa for two. Fenix comes running in to take Gargano back out of the ring, allowing Andrade to take Ciampa down with the DDT for the win!
Winner: Rey Fenix & Andrade via Pinfall.
Next Week’s Show Card Rundown
They celebrate as commentary hypes up the tag title match for next week, as well as appearances from Jelly Roll and Logan Paul alongside their SummerSlam tag partners Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre.
Backstage: Cody Rhodes
Backstage, Cody Rhodes has the contract in his hands ready for our contract signing…and that is up next!
In-Ring: Adam Pearce, Cody Rhodes, John Cena
Whether @JohnCena likes it or not he will be at SummerSlam… in a STREET FIGHT 🔥@CodyRhodes pic.twitter.com/cAjVb7mPfK
— WWE (@WWE) July 19, 2025
Adam Pearce is standing by, welcoming us to the contract signing for the Undisputed WWE Championship match at SummerSlam before introducing first the challenger, Cody Rhodes. Cody makes his entrance to a big pop from the crowd, contract in hand as he heads to the ring. He takes a quick moment to sign the contract himself before taking the microphone to ask San Antonio what they wanna talk about.
He appreciates the warm reception, bringing up the fact his father and brother (shoutout TNT Champion Dustin Rhodes) are both Texans before noting that he got the opportunity to become WWE Undisputed Champion. He brings up the idea of not flinching, stating that he didn’t flinch when he returned to WWE or on a number of occasions since…but he did flinch at WrestleMania 41 against John Cena.
The mention of the champ gets a mixed reaction from the crowd. Rhodes understands the unenviable task of trying to take the title way from one of the most beloved wrestlers in the history of our game, but it is the task given to Cody for SummerSlam. It takes two for this dance to work, so he asks Adam Pearce to help move this along. Pearce obliges by introducing the Undisputed WWE Champion, John Cena.
Big pop followed by “John Cena sucks” chants reveals the duality of the wrestling fan, as Cena makes his way down the ramp. John enters the ring, calling for the music to be cut before asking Cody to take a seat. Cena also sits down, but before he signs he says he has bad news for everyone…he is NOT going to be at SummerSlam.
The crowd starts booing as Cena addresses having to film for a big project with Netflix, and due to exhaustion involved it is best that he not physically compete at SummerSlam. He tries to explain his situation further offering to do the match in Paris or something, but if he puts his name down he HAS to be at SummerSlam.
Right now, physically and emotionally, Cena can only give the fans so much. He thanks the fans for their understanding. He promises Cody he’ll get his rematch, but it won’t be at SummerSlam. Cena takes his leave from the ring, but Rhodes cuts him off to send him into the ring post…only for John to fight back, sending Rhodes into the ring steps instead! He sends Cody into the ring before grabbing the title from the ramp.
Cena gets back in the ring, but misses hitting Cody with the title…and that allows Rhodes to hold the belt in his hands instead. He makes good on what Cena could not, taking the champ down with a shot to the head before putting him onto the table. He takes the contract before going up top, driving Cena through the table before grabbing his hand to forcibly sign the contract for the match…which Cody reveals is also a Street Fight!
