Shawn Michaels Comments on Running NXT Being “It’s A Role I Love”
Undisputed held a recent interview with WWE SVP of NXT and Talent Relations Shawn Michaels. One of the topics discussed included Michaels’ thoughts about running WWE’s NXT brand being a role that he has loved.
“It’s a role I love. None of it feels like work for me. And if it helps the men and women here grow personally and professionally, then those are positives.”
Michaels also gave his thoughts about his comparison working with NXT’s up-and-coming prospects to sharing advice with your children.
“I’m supposed to be giving back, and I’m thankful that I can do it in a line of work that I know a lot about. It’s like sharing experiences and knowledge with your children. We apply that to the young men and women who walk into the WWE Performance Center, and it’s the same thing from a career standpoint. I understand the personal struggle that goes on during this. To not recognize that would be an injustice. I want to make sure we’re covering everything and do my part in trying to help them.”
Michaels also gave his thoughts about WWE’s business being in good hands for the future with Cody Rhodes.
“You’re always comforted when you’re handing over the reins of this business to someone that respects it, honors it, and enjoys it. That gives all of us a lot of peace and comfort.
When Cody comes into the Performance Center, it’s very fortunate for us. He wants to pass it on to the next generation and echoes a lot of what we say. That’s a huge help and comfort to everyone in WWE. You know the business is in good hands moving into the future.”
Liv Morgan Alleged Stalker Arrest Update
As noted before, a man named Shawn Chan was arrested this past June outside of WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida over charges of him being an alleged stalker of Liv Morgan. Chan was issued federal charges related to a stalking incident at Morgan’s home, which Morgan was away from at the time.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the scheduled court hearing for Chan’s request to be released from jail and to reside at a Salvation Army’s location until the trial takes place has been moved up by one day based on recent court records.
Johnson reported that this upcoming hearing is now scheduled to take place on Monday, September 15th.
Chan has been charged with one federal count of interstate domestic violence and currently faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
Mark Shapiro Comments on “WWE Wrestlepalooza Could Be Another WrestleMania or SummerSlam For Us”
Wednesday’s Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference 2025 event in San Francisco, California featured TKO COO Mark Shapiro as a guest. One of the topics discussed included Shapiro’s thoughts about his current belief that the upcoming WWE Wrestlepalooza event on ESPN’s new streaming service can become another WrestleMania or SummerSlam annual major event for WWE going forward.
“Hopefully, Wrestlepalooza is a winner and we can bring that back annually. That could be a marketing bonanza for us if we do that right.”
Shapiro also stated that WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque is spending day and night creatively making “what we think it can be: another WrestleMania or another SummerSlam.”
