Deadline reported that their sources stated that MJF recently joined the cast for an upcoming new film titled Violent Night 2 for Universal Pictures.
It was reported that MJF’s role in the upcoming film is currently not known. The plot for this upcoming film reportedly is also currently being kept under wraps as well.
This upcoming film reportedly is currently scheduled to be released on December 4, 2026.
This upcoming film is a sequel to the first film which was released in 2022 and had the plot of “An elite team of mercenaries breaks into a family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone hostage inside. However, they aren’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.”
In regards to MJF’s filming and travel schedule for this month, Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that MJF is currently in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for the filming of Violent Night 2 and will not be appearing on tonight’s AEW Dynamite show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
It was reported that MJF’s travel schedule has been very busy this month so far with him getting married to Alicia Atout on September 5th and then traveled to Philadelphia on September 6th for that night’s AEW Collision show. MJF reportedly then traveled to Winnipeg shortly after AEW’s show to start working on the upcoming new film.
MJF reportedly is currently scheduled to fly to Mexico City this weekend for his match against Mistico at CMLL’s 92nd Anniversary event and will then travel back for the lead-up to his match against Mark Briscoe at AEW All Out 2025 on September 5th in Toronto.
It was reported that MJF is currently scheduled to resume filming of Violent Night 2 in Winnipeg following AEW’s All Out 2025 event.
