Andrade’s Departure from WWE Update – Andrade Reportedly Had At Least One Wellness Violation During WWE Run [Update: Rumor Killer on Andrade Turning Down AAA Work Prior to Release]

Update:

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that prior to his release, WWE officials had wanted Andrade to work in Lucha Libre AAA under their ownership but he turned it down. Meltzer reported that it is not known if this played a role in Andrade’s release from WWE.

Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that Andrade’s wellness violation was not due to any drugs nor alcohol nor marriage-related issues.

PWInsisder’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources denied Meltzer reported about Andrade turning down WWE’s request for him to work in AAA. Johnson reported that three different sources spoken to all stated that at no point was a request made to Andrade to work in AAA nor was he ever included in any pitched for AAA creative ideas.

Johnson reported that one story that was making the rounds regarding WWE not being able to reach out to Andrade for several weeks was due to he had left the United States to travel to another country in South America and did not respond to the company’s overtures.

As noted before, Andrade recently departed from WWE that was later revealed to have been a release and something that was not a mutual decision.

Sports Illustrated’s John Alba reported that his sources stated that Andrade had at least one violation of WWE’s wellness policy but it is currently not known exactly what caused the violation nor if he had tested positive for a banned substance. Alba reported that it is currently not known if this violation directly led to his release but he was suspended without pay as a result of it.

Alba reported that Andrade was told to leave a WWE taping last month and was escorted out of the building by security.

One high-level source reportedly stated that Andrade’s dismissal from the building was in relation to his most recent suspension. This same source also stated that Andrade’s suspension also affected major creative plans for his tag team with Rey Fenix.

This was Andrade’s second known suspension for a wellness violation, first in 2020 during his first stint in WWE.
