The September 8th WWE RAW show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin featured WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce informing IYO SKY backstage that her match contract signing segment was cancelled due to Stephanie Vaquer was not able to make it to the show. Vaquer later confirmed that her abscense was not due to any injury-related issues at the time.
Saturday’s WWE Wrestlepalooza post-show featured WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque as one of the guests. One of the topics discussed included Levesque stating that the reason why Vaquer had missed the September 8th episode of WWE RAW was due to her dealing with an illness for several weeks.
“I’ll let everybody in on a behind-the-scenes secret with Stephanie. In the last few weeks, Stephanie has been very sick. I don’t know all the details of what the flu-type thing going on, but she was very sick. It’s why she missed TV and why there was an odd build to it. She was able to feel well enough and get cleared medically to compete tonight.”
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated’s Takedown on SI, Vaquer confirmed she had missed the show due to an illness. This interview was held prior to Saturday’s WWE Wrestlepalooza event.
“To be honest, the last three weeks I was no good. I was sick. My body [does] not feel like a hundred percent. I feel a little weak. I could not train really good the last month, but when I [was] back last Monday, I really feel the people and I really feel everything and really forget everything about that.”
