Red Velvet Makes Surprise ROH Return on October 23rd ROH TV Show & Calls Out Mercedes Mone
Thursday’s ROH TV show on HonorClub featured current ROH Women’s World Television Champion Red Velvet making a surprise return appearance.
During the show, Velvet was seen backstage and gave a promo sarcastically congratulating Mercedes Mone for winning the Interim ROH Women’s World TV title at AEW’s WrestleDream 2025 event. Velvet stated that Mone’s history making money doesn’t mean a dam thing when standing face to face with the future. Velvet continued talking about her recovery from injury and that she is fully healed and cleared to return. Velvet then proclaimed that she is the real champion and for Mone to remember her face since the next time she sees it, it will be the last things she will see as her empire crumbles.
It was a back-and-forth battle at #AEWWrestleDream, but @MercedesVarnado came out on top to become the Interim #ROH Women’s World TV Champion.

Matt Hardy Comments on Him Hearing A New TNA Media Rights Deal “Will Be Announced By The End Of 2025, First Of 2026”
As noted before, TNA Wrestling is currently seeking a new media rights deal for around $10 million per year. TNA has been in talks with A&E and The CW for a potential new broadcast home for the company.
A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Matt Hardy giving his thoughts about TNA’s current talks for a new media rights deal and how he has heard from others that a new deal will be announced by the end of this year to early 2026.
“I think some very exciting things are on the horizon. I think, from what I’m hearing, by the end of this year, first of next year, there is going to be a new media rights deal announced. It’s going to be huge. It’s going to be huge for TNA. Just being somewhere where we get more eyeballs on the product. We do have a very solid product, and I like what we’re doing. The fact that we’ve grown, especially in attendance, ticket sales, and buy rates. I’m proud of everybody. Everybody has busted their ass and worked really hard.”

As noted before, TNA’s Bound For Glory 2025 event earlier this month in Lowell, Massachusetts featured Team 3D (Bully Ray & D-Von) retiring from their in-ring career following their loss to The Hardys in a Tables match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship. In a recent interview with VideoGamer.com, D-Von Dudley gave his thoughts about how he had been training for the past six months to get ready for his match against The Hardys. D-Von stated “Oh, I feel great. I’m sore, yes. But that’s expected when you haven’t been in the ring in three years. And then prior to the 1000th episode of IMPACT Wrestling, it was seven years. I started the training six months prior to the match last Sunday. And I was happy to do that. I started taking boxing lessons, not to become a boxer, but I did it because it was helping with my footwork. Things like moving side to side, moving forward and back. Trying to get quick in that aspect. We did tangle with the gloves a little bit and I enjoyed it. It was great cardio. I was salivating at the mouth, drool coming out of my mouth, snot coming out of my nose, but doing rounds of boxing was one of the ways I’ve been keeping my cardio up. Flipping tires, doing the ropes, things like that. So it was a grueling six months when I put my body through just to do what we did. But it was all worth it. I hadn’t done it in years and I was happy to have started doing that. I felt like the old D-Von and I’m just glad it’s over. I think talks started in January. I got the phone call from Bubba sometime in February and he asked me if I could still go. And that was the thing. He said, ‘Can you still go?’ ‘Of course I can still go.’ When he said he wanted one last match with the Hardys, I said ‘Oh, here we go.’ Just for the fact that when you wrestle with the Hardys, you’ve got to come prepared, you’ve got to be ready. And I wanted to make sure that that was gonna be the case if I took this on, which is why I started training as soon as I found out. I knew how long it would take me to get back into shape and to do what I had to do, but it worked and I’m happy about it.” Dudley also gave his thoughts about if that was the last time he would ever wrestle. Dudley stated “You don’t take off your boots in the middle of the ring and then decide to come back. That’s disrespectful in my opinion. So there’s your answer.“
During the same interview, D-Von Dudley also gave his thoughts about the racism he’s experienced during his wrestling career and stated that there is a person who currently works for an organization that D-Von had a run-in with in the past involving this person being racist towards him. D-Von stated “No, because it was hidden really. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. The Klan wore sheets on their heads. The Ku Klux Klan wore sheets over their heads. And I felt that a lot of those Klan members made their way into wrestling, traded in their sheets for suits. It was definitely a behind-the-scenes thing. I’ve dealt with it with certainly higher ups like MVP said. I dealt with that certain higher up that told me to my face, they don’t like me because of the color of my skin. And they work for other organizations now, and this person knows who he is. I have no respect for that person. I don’t really care for him. Now that he’s not in the position that he once was, I just really don’t care for him.”
